Sainsbury’s wins planning permission
Bruno Moore, Sainsbury’s Regional Town Planning Manager, said: We are really pleased with the decision. We would like to thank everyone who gave us feedback during consultation and helped shape what will be Wadebridge’s new supermarket and, fittingly, one of our most sustainable stores in the country. In reaching their decision, planning committee members referred to the many letters written in support of Sainsbury’s proposals and to Cllr Scott Mann’s survey that showed Sainsbury’s to be the preferred store for Wadebridge. There is a lot to be do before work can start on the store, including finalising the details of the town centre parking, residents’ parking scheme and other initiatives to strengthen Wadebridge’s town centre. We are now looking forward to getting on and building the store, which if all goes to plan could be open by early 2013.
